Instructions
1Prepare the Glaze
5m
Melt Butter
Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
Combine Glaze Ingredients
Add the honey, granulated sugar, and all the spices to the melted butter. Whisk until well combined.
Simmer Glaze
Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the glaze to a simmer, whisking constantly. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened. Be careful not to burn the sugar.
2Prepare the Ham
5m
Score the Ham
Score the ham in a diamond pattern, about 1/4 inch deep, being careful not to cut into the meat.
Glaze the Ham
Using a brush or spatula, generously coat the ham with the prepared glaze, making sure to get into the scored lines.
Place Ham in Slow Cooker
Place the glazed ham, cut-side down, into the slow cooker insert.
3Slow Cook the Ham
2h
Set Slow Cooker
Cover the slow cooker and set it to HIGH for 2 hours, or LOW for 4-5 hours, until the ham is heated through.
4Broil the Ham
5m
Preheat Broiler
Preheat your oven's broiler to HIGH (500°F / 260°C).
Transfer Ham to Baking Sheet
Carefully remove the ham from the slow cooker and place it on a foil-lined baking sheet.
Broil Ham
Place the baking sheet under the broiler for 3-5 minutes, or until the glaze is bubbling and caramelized. Watch closely to prevent burning.
Rest and Serve
Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Tips
For a deeper glaze, you can brush the ham with the glaze multiple times during the slow cooking process.
If the glaze starts to burn under the broiler, reduce the heat or shorten the broiling time.
Leftover ham can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days and is delicious in sandwiches or casseroles.
