Weeknight Miso Ramen

Japanese · Non-veg

A weeknight bowl with a broth that tastes slow-cooked — miso, charred corn, and a jammy egg.

Ramen Noodles2 nests
Chicken Broth1 l
Shiitake Mushrooms60 g
Eggs2
Sweet Corn½ cup
Green Onions3
Fresh Ginger1 tbsp
Soy Sauce2 tbsp
Sesame Oil1 tsp
Nori2 sheets

Equipment

Dutch Oven
Wok

Instructions

1Prep the Bowl10m

Slice the aromatics

Thinly slice the shiitakes and cut the green onions on a bias, whites and greens kept apart.

Grate the ginger

A microplane keeps it fine enough to melt into the broth.

2Simmer the Broth15m

Build the base

Warm the sesame oil, sweat the ginger and onion whites, then pour in the broth and bring it to a bare simmer.

Loosen the miso

Whisk the miso with a ladle of hot broth before it goes back in, or it will sit in clumps.

3Noodles & Assembly5m

Cook the noodles

Boil separately so the starch never clouds the broth, then divide between warmed bowls.

Finish the bowl

Ladle over the broth and top with corn, the halved egg, green onion tops, and nori.

Import recipes while browsing the web.

Questions, answered.

You can import from any link you can paste or share from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and ordinary recipe sites. You can also photograph a recipe page or a handwritten card, or paste plain text. Every import lands as a clean, structured recipe.

It does work with YouTube. You can search inside the app, watch in a native player that only shows recipe videos, and import the one you are watching. Ingredients and steps are pulled out of the video itself, so you never scrub back to catch a quantity.

Yes. Point the camera at a plate of food and RecipeOwl works out the dish and writes a recipe for it. The same camera reads handwritten recipe cards, cookbook pages and screenshots.

Yes. Add breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks to any day, and calories add up for each day and the week. One tap turns the plan into a grocery list, with the same ingredient from different recipes combined into one line and sorted by aisle.

You can swipe the ingredient and tap Subs to see what you can use instead. Anything you still need goes straight to your grocery list with one tap.

Yes. Make collections like weeknight dinners or holiday baking, and give each one a cover photo, a font and an accent color. A recipe can sit in as many collections as you like.

Yes. The yearly plan starts with a 3-day free trial for new subscribers, and you aren't charged until it ends. You can cancel before then in your iPhone's Settings. A monthly plan is also available.
