Instructions
1Prepare the Mozzarella
5m
Cut Mozzarella
Cut the mozzarella block into strips approximately 3/4 of an inch by 3/4 of an inch.
2Set Up Breading Stations
5m
Flour Station
Place the all-purpose flour in one shallow bowl. Season it with garlic powder and ground black pepper.
Egg Wash Station
In a second shallow bowl, combine the eggs and water. Beat them until well combined.
Bread Crumb Station
Place the bread crumbs in a third shallow bowl.
3Bread the Mozzarella
10m
First Dredge
Using your right hand, dredge the mozzarella sticks in the seasoned flour, ensuring they are fully coated. Shake off excess.
First Egg Dip
Using your left hand, transfer the floured sticks to the egg wash and roll them around to coat. Let excess drip off.
Second Dredge
Using your right hand again, transfer the egg-coated sticks to the bread crumbs and roll them to coat thoroughly.
Second Egg Dip
Using your left hand, dip the breaded sticks back into the egg wash and coat again.
Final Bread Crumb Coat
Using your right hand one last time, roll the sticks in the bread crumbs to create a final, thick coating. Alternating hands helps keep the dredging stations clean.
4Freeze the Sticks
Freeze
Place the breaded mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze overnight, or for at least 6-7 hours, until completely solid. This step is critical to prevent them from melting too quickly during frying.
5Fry the Mozzarella Sticks
10m
Heat Oil
Pour about 2-3 inches of cooking oil into a deep pot or deep fryer. Heat the oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to maintain the temperature.
Fry in Batches
Carefully place 2-3 frozen mozzarella sticks into the hot oil at a time. Do not overcrowd the pot.
Cook Until Golden
Fry for about 2 minutes, or until the sticks are golden brown and the cheese begins to ooze slightly. Be careful not to over-fry.
Drain
Remove the fried mozzarella sticks from the oil using a slotted spoon or spider strainer. Place them on a wire rack set over a baking sheet to drain any excess oil.

Serve Hot
Serve the mozzarella sticks immediately with your favorite marinara sauce, ketchup, or other condiments. Enjoy!
Tips
Ensure the mozzarella sticks are completely frozen before frying to prevent them from bursting and leaking cheese.
Do not overcrowd the pot when frying; cook in small batches to maintain oil temperature and ensure even crisping.
A little cheese oozing out is normal, but over-frying will result in a messy loss of cheese.
