Combine Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine ground beef with paprika, parsley flakes, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Add Wet Ingredients
Add the sautéed onion and garlic mixture, Worcestershire sauce, half and half, egg, and Italian bread crumbs to the ground beef mixture. Mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
3Chill and Form the Loaf
30m
Chill Mixture
Cover the bowl and refrigerate the meatloaf mixture for at least 30 minutes. This helps the loaf hold its shape.
Form Loaf
After chilling, remove the mixture from the refrigerator and form it into a loaf shape on a wire rack set inside a baking sheet.
4Bake the Meatloaf
1h
Apply Glaze
Evenly spread the prepared ketchup glaze over the top of the meatloaf.
Bake
Transfer the meatloaf to the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
Tips
Do not overmix the meatloaf ingredients, as this can result in a tough texture.
Chilling the mixture before forming the loaf helps it hold its shape better during baking.
An internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) is the safe doneness for ground beef.
